AFM NRS ProgramNRS Lining Up

The AFM NRS is for experienced track riders that want to take it to the next level and race. The program includes instruction on AFM race day procedures and an on-course skills evaluation. It does not include any instruction on riding. You need to already be a solid rider in order to pass the class. You will be evaluated on taking predictable lines, comfort level on the track with close passes, consistency, and overall riding skills. You also need to arrive with a race-prepped, tech-ready bike. If your bike does not pass tech, you will not be allowed on the track, and you will fail the AFM NRS.

If you are seeking instruction to bring you up to a level at which you feel comfortable racing, we suggest you seek out a new racer school offered by several partner track day providers (listed below on this page). These schools will work with you on-track to improve your skills so that you can achieve that next level and be prepared for racing. They also include all the same instruction on race day procedures that the AFM NRS does, and once you pass a track day provided NRS you are eligible to race with the AFM.

Prior to your first race weekend with AFM you may find it helpful to participate in the AFM Mentor Program which is designed to pair up new racers with seasoned AFM experts to help answer any questions, offer insight into the AFM and set expectations for the upcoming race event.

Please read the entire Competition Rulebook carefully to make sure you are familiar with all requirements for racing and bike preparation.

For more info on getting started as a new racer please read the New Racer Orientation Guide.
